SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME FOR THE NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES ON SUBSTANCE ABUSE

The African Council on Narcotics (ACON) recently undertook a 3 – Day Sensitization Workshop for the Nigerian Army (NA) at the Nigeria Army School of Infantry in Jaji, Kaduna State. The programme was executed under the auspices of the office of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) in collaboration with Baba Rabi Foundation (BARAF), another NGO. Over 1,200 officers and men of the NA participated in the programme. Annexed herewith is the full report and pictures of the programme.

The story captures the deplorable and odious experience of a man who had had a meritorious career in the army, but got entangled in the malaise of the drug abuse culture which ruined his future and family.
